Happy Birthday Wishes

Sometimes it can be hard to think of the best way to express to the person who is about to celebrate their birthday just how much they mean to you and how much you care.  In our society where we all work hard and don’t have a lot of spare time it’s important to seize the opportunity to express happy birthday wishes when the opportunity arises.

Significant Occasions

When you think about it there are only a handful of significant occasions, like a 16th, 18th or 21st birthday, in each of our life times. Having those that we care about around us acknowledge these important occasions in our life cycle reinforces our sense of belonging and well-being. This applies especially to adolescents who are entering adulthood -  a celebration can be a way to signify their transition from childhood to adulthood in a way that is full of good wishes, great food, friends and fun.

Birthday Gatherings

A birthday gathering also provides an excellent opportunity for people to come together who may not otherwise plan to without the structure of a gathering. A lot of families live apart and don’t see each other as much as they like a celebration for a 21st or 40th can be a great stimulus to come together. Just be sure to plan in advance so people can have time to save should they need to book accommodation or airfares.

Where To Have The Celebration?

You might like to think about holding your special event at a location away from your home such as a botanical garden or at the waterfront.  Sometimes there may be a small booking fee- check with the local governing agency to be sure. For people that are travelling locally you can ask them to bring a plate – draw up a list and mark it off  as you allocate each item.

If you are lucky enough to have a yard large enough to accommodate your guests this can be a great option as well. Just try and have an area outside set up and hold it at a time of the day that provides the most comfort for people in your climate zone.

A Celebration To Remember

Organise before hand for a handful of people to make a toast and recount some fond memories of the person for whom the celebration is being held. If you have access to a computer you could organise a slide-show of photographs starting from oldest photos to newest special touches like these are a great way to communicate happy birthday wishes with fun, love and affection.
